What this website keeps when you visit it, and who else sees it.
This is the privacy policy for fredwinstonmusic.com, William “Fred” Winston’s website. It covers the site and nothing more.
The form on the Contact page doesn’t send anything to us by itself. When you press send, it opens your own email app with a message to [email protected] already written: your name, your email, what you’re reaching out about and your message. Nothing goes anywhere until you send that email yourself. The order buttons on the Merch page work the same way, starting an email with the item and the price filled in.
From there it’s ordinary email, and we use it to answer you and to fill your order. For merch, we reply with a payment link, and the payment happens on that service’s own page.
Our site logs each page view on Cloudflare before any script runs in your browser. For each one it keeps:
No IP address is kept, and nothing with your name on it. The site also counts taps on the email address and how many seconds a page stays open.
One cookie is the site’s own: ts_src, set when your visit starts. It holds where the visit came from (the referring site or ad, the first page, your kind of device and the time), carries no identifier, and disappears when you close your browser. Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_2XQGMQ1EZY.
We run Google Analytics beside our own log, as a second count. It sends Google the pages you view and how you got here, and Google handles that under its privacy policy. Google’s opt-out add-on, or blocking cookies for this site, turns it off.
Cloudflare hosts the site, and like any host it sees your IP address when it sends you a page. The typefaces load from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when your browser fetches them. The song on the home page and the performance video play from this site itself. The Facebook, TikTok and press links take you to those sites, where their own policies apply.
